Derrick and Kaprice Tucker have 5 children and live in LaPlata, MD. They both attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Kaprice is a practicing attorney, barred in three states. She worked for NASA as an Intellectual Property Attorney for 20 years and now works as a Senior Executive for the Department of the Interior, leading their Acquisitions Office.  Derrick majored in mathematics and minored in computer science and was a track and field athlete.  He started his career in engineering and began investing in real estate over 20 years ago. He officially pivoted his career into commercial real estate when he obtained his MBA in Real Estate and Urban Development from American University.  Along the way Derrick has also been a Championship track coach. In his current role at the General Services Administration, Derrick manages a portfolio of nearly a billion dollars in government assets.
